Gestational Diabetes

So I went in for my ultrasound follow-up and Deegan's kidneys are still a little dilated :( My midwife said that I would need to do another follow-up ultrasound at 34 weeks...and worse case, if his kidneys are still dilated then we might need to give him medicine after he's born...poor thing :(

I was also tested for GMD last week...they called me last night to say that my levels were a little high and that i needed to get more testing done. Went to the lab and did that today...had to fast for 13 hours, get my blood drawn, drink the nasty sugar drink, wait an hour, get my blood drawn, wait an hour, get my blood drawn, wait an hour and get my blood drawn for a 4th time. FML!!! I about died...I was starving...bored...sick...dizzy. And I guess I wasn't supposed to drive myself home...OOPS!!! It took me 2 hours to get home thanks to my car overheating...beautiful! The joys of being pregnant and alone.

So now just waiting on my results for the GMD testing...I really hope everything is ok because I love sugar...and I do realize now that perhaps I was eating too much of it. What did I have for dinner tonight? PB and jelly sandwich...WOW. I REALLY need to cut back if I have GMD or not is what I'm saying.

In the meantime...me myself and I have signed up for a butt load of parenting classes. Fun stuff. I'm sure I'll learn alot and I'm sure it will help me...it's been 15 years since my little brother was born...I def need a refresher!!
